This piece draws from butterfly motifs found in Miao silverwork, where wing structures are formed through layered filigree and mirrored outlines. The design interprets these elements with a clarity suited to contemporary wear.
The composition sets the wings within a symmetrical framework, allowing the form to remain defined while retaining the visual language of the traditional motif. The structure is held in balance, with proportion and outline guiding the overall resolution.
Made in 990 silver using long-practised filigree techniques, the earrings allow line and structure to remain the primary means through which the form is read.
